The Project
For the 2022 edition, we were asked to create a visual concept that could convey the diffusion of music and highlight the deep connection between the festival, its territory, and cultural heritage. The goal was to enhance the event’s unique identity and make it instantly recognizable across all communication channels.

The Solution
The creative idea draws inspiration from the propagation of sound—represented visually through concentric circles, echoing the waves spreading across the lake’s surface.
This symbolic element captures the very essence of the festival: music expanding outward, reaching the audience in an immersive, emotional journey.

The concept also integrated and reinterpreted Bosco, a site-specific installation by architect Michele De Lucchi, creating a dialogue between art, architecture, and music.
We developed a distinctive color palette to reinforce the festival’s brand identity:

Deep blue, evoking the emotional depth of music and the vastness of the lake.

Vibrant pink, a symbol of energy and the resonant power of live performance.

The visual identity was adapted and applied across all touchpoints, both online and offline, including:

Even the print material choices followed the creative direction, featuring a textured paper that elevated design details and conveyed the tangible emotion of music through its tactile qualities.

The visual identity created by Jam Area made the 2022 edition of Stresa Festival instantly recognizable, strengthening its position as a landmark cultural event.

Through a harmonious blend of design, sound, and nature, the new concept emotionally engaged audiences and communicated the transformative power of music in perfect resonance with the artistic and natural beauty of Lake Maggiore.
